Are you a former Redbird who wants to return to Illinois State to finish your degree? Here's what you need to know to become a returning student.
Apply
If you have not attended Illinois State for one or more semesters (excluding summer session), you must apply for readmission.
There is no application fee for former Illinois State students applying for the same level of degree.

New Start Program
The New Start program is offered to students who wish to return to Illinois State after being away for a minimum of one year and who left with less than a 2.0 grade point average. To qualify, a student must be a veteran, nontraditional student, or a community college transfer.
Major Requirements
As a former Illinois State undergraduate student, you are automatically admitted into your previous major (if space is available), provided that you were in good academic standing when you left the University.
If you wish to change your major, you must meet minimum grade point average requirements and course prerequisites for admission into some majors.

University Housing
Illinois State requires students to live in university housing their first two years out of high school.
Living Off-Campus
The Off-Campus Housing Database, offered by the Dean of Students Office, allows you to search for vacant listings managed by private landlords and management companies, as well as roommates.
